Description
This vineyard, planted in 1967, always gives a high proportion of millerand fruit which intensifies the flavours. The 2022 is very aromatic, offering pure Pinot Noir aromas of crushed strawberries and floral touches. There is a bright acidity and precise, chalky structure that will provide the building blocks for ageing.

Critics reviews
Mid crimson ruby. A delicious perfumed nose, roses and red fruit, then some sterner tannins, this has both body and structure, with good acidity. Millerand grapes, 25% whole bunch vinification adds to the crunchy style of fruit at the finish. Good persistence.
Drink 2026 - 2032
The 2022 Santenay Clos Rousseau 1er Cru, containing 25% whole bunches, is more backward on the nose than the Beaurepaire, offering raspberry and mulberry fruit and fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins. It’s quite a strict Santenay, fresh and sapid, though I find the Beaurepaire is more charming and seductive. This is a bit standoffish by comparison, yet it will mature well in bottle.
