Tasted from barrel.

With 95% Grenache, 2022 yielded another smaller vintage due to drought, meaning incredible intensity and concentration. The nose offers red fruits, dried herbs, and lavender. A palate of black cherry, blackberry, and a touch of garrigue is framed by supple tannins and vibrant acidity. The finish is slightly closed, so this would certainly benefit from bottle age, but the texture is fine and silky.

Ripe black fruits, peppery herbs, smoked meat, and spicy notes all emerge from the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape, a classic, old-school, mouth-filling, and structured 2022. It's not overflowing with finesse and elegance, yet it brings classic, old-school aromas and flavours and has a layered, satisfying style that will drink well for a decade.
