Description
This wine is a testament to Kamptal's unique terroir and expert winemaking in a difficult year. The nose bursts with vibrant aromas of white blossom, gooseberry, zingy grapefruit and subtle, earthy complexity. Fermented in stainless steel, the palate is lively and crisp. Succulent flavours of lime, peach and passionfruit are complemented by subtle spice, razor-sharp acidity and saline mineral tones. The finish is lean, clear and finessed, with mouthwatering freshness and svelte precision. This bone-dry, organic Riesling promises excellent ageing potential.

Critics reviews
Organically farmed fruit is sourced from parcels in the Steinmassl and Steinberg vineyards, and young vines are from Heiligenstein. Fermented in stainless steel. Screwcap. Certified organic LACON).
Juicy and lively with bright, zingy acidity, this bursts with fruit, from limey citrus to peach and succulent passion fruit. The crisp acidity snaps it to the palate and holds the flavours long; the light grape-skin spice and saline mineral tones make it extra palate-whetting. It feels joyful and exciting, as effective in waking up the senses as caffeine—very good value.

Bone-dry
The 2022 Riesling Kamptal Terrassen is harvested mostly from paragneiss in the Steinberg vineyard behind Steinmassl and in Steinmassl itself, as well as the poorer parcels of Käferberg and the young vines of the Heiligenstein. The nose is alive with fruit, almost red-berry-like in its tart juiciness. The palate comes in with immense and sweeping freshness, brio, and a lovely citric with zesty astringency, making this even racier. This is svelte, precise, fresh and wonderfully driven—and bone-dry, of course. Zesty mouthfeel and flavour are everything here—no wonder, with this kind of provenance.
Drink 2023 - 2030
Screw cap. From organically grown grapes.
There’s a subtle earthy complexity here, alongside grapefruits, flint stones, honey and peach blossom aromas. Deliciously mineral and flavorful, with vibrant, lively acidity. Long and dry.
