Description
This vineyard has the highest vines of the domaine, at nearly 400m. It was included in the recent upgrade to Premier Cru, although there are still vines on this site above 400m that have been excluded. This wine’s profile is angular and mineral, with a superb lick of citrussy acidity. Almost atypical for this appellation.

Critics reviews
The 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé Sur La Roche 1er Cru comes from vines located at 400m, the highest in the Domaine. It has another well-defined and attractive bouquet, with yellow fruit, lanolin, and a touch of wild peach coming through with aeration. The palate is harmonious, pure, and more austere than the Au Vignoret, but I feel this has the legs to last longer in bottle. It is very promising.

From Vergisson
A much more floral-suffused nose reflects notes of ripe pear, apple, citrus, and subtle oak influence. The medium-bodied flavours have both fine richness and an intense minerality. They conclude in a noticeably firmer and better-balanced finale shaped by citrus-tinged acidity.

A little more colour from this wind-swept site, though the bouquet offers a fresh chiselled limestone style, fresh white fruit. Very clean fresh fruit with excellent length, feel the stones, extremely classy.
