Description
David uses a smaller proportion of whole bunches here – just 10% - because he feels the vineyard provides a naturally floral character in the wines. The nose is indeed very floral and delicate, with inviting notes of violets and peonies. The chalky finish is excellent, too.

Critics reviews
An attractive bouquet of peonies and fresh raspberries, very classy. Fine nuanced little berry fruits, ideal fruit acid balance, medium plus length, a very harmonious Santenay with good length.

The 2022 Santenay Clos des Mouches 1er Cru contains around 10% to 15% whole bunches this year. It has a splendid nose, the favorite amongst Moreau's reds with vivid, energetic red berry fruit mixed with wild hedgerow and touches of oyster shell. The medium-bodied palate has smooth tannins, very sensual for a Santenay. It offers pretty red fruit with a dash of white pepper towards the elegant finish. What a beautiful Santenay this is going to be.
