Description

This is derived from 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Blanc fruit grown on stony soils over oolitic, calcium-rich limestone. Aged in 350-litre barrels with only 5% new oak, the wine is delightfully floral, with apricot and hints of wet stone. Take a sip and the fresh, rounded, creamy palate is effortless. Add salinity and a long finish to get this complex and delightful wine.

Allen Meadows 90-92/100

A deft application of wood sets off spicier aromas of ripe apple, pear, white flower and more evident citrus influence. The notably finer medium weight flavors possess almost painful intensity before terminating in a chiseled and bone-dry but not really austere finale. This is lovely and a wine built to repay 5 to 8 years of keeping.

The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Terres Blanches is a blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Blanc vinified separately. It has a composed bouquet, taut and fresh, quite mineral-driven compared to the Bourgogne Blanc. The palate is well-balanced with fine delineation and vigour. It's a broad and "sunny" Nuits Saint-Gorges with pineapple and white peach notes towards the finish. Fine.

Fresh mid lemon. There is some density evident on the nose, suggestive of a little more flesh this year. Then in fact a fresher and leaner fruit behind, very good acidity, crunchy apples. Fine length, a white Nuits that is capable of ageing.
