Description

Quite a classic cooler style of Cabernet Franc. Aromas of quite pungent, somewhat crunchy bramble fruit, smatterings of ripe vine tomato and bramble leaf unfurl in the glass, revealing a delicate capsicum note. The palate is surprisingly creamy, showcasing a good structure with lovely fine-grained tannin. Quite persistent acidity brings bite and freshness to the wine. Finishes peppery. Astonishingly good value here and a perfect example of well-thought-out Cabernet Franc.

Matured for a whole year in tanks, doubling the usual six months, the 2021 Domaine Guiberteau offers a gourmand, fresh bouquet of wild dark berries, violet, cassis, and peony. This is followed by a medium-bodied, juicy, sensual, and seamless texture that finishes long and ethereal. It's a nice effort.
