2021 Chambertin, Clos de Bèze, Grand Cru, Domaine Henri Rebourseau, Burgundy

Description

From a .33 ha parcel.

Here, too, there is enough wood to mention, suffusing the spicier but somewhat surprisingly less elegant nose of various red berries, earth and a whiff of the Sauvage. There is fine intensity to the more refined, if less mineral-driven, flavours that flash excellent length and even better complexity on the moderately austere finale where the wood displayed by the nose reappears.

Critics reviews

Neal Martin 90-92/100

The 2021 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has a less complex bouquet than the Chambertin. It has quite strong, intense aromas of red plum and mint. The palate is medium-bodied, with red berry fruit and tea leaves, and just a slight bitterness on the finish.

Lighter in colour with a slightly less intense purple. There seems to be greater finesse in the Clos de Bèze, compared to the Chambertin. There is a lighter touch to the texture, a fresher red berry fruit, more in alpine strawberries, excellent persistence, less the hand of the winemaker.
