Description
Despite this vineyard’s proximity to Pommard, it is elegant rather than powerful. The soil here is not dissimilar to the neighbouring Epenots, with limestone beneath clay. The yield was almost normal this year and this is a good example of what Dominique loves about 2021. This is open and so accessible, awash with silky red fruit, yet it has presence as well. A pleasing mid purple. The bouquet is very joyous. A lively and fresh fruit, with clean raspberries at the back. A fine balance with just a touch more acidity. Also a late malolactic, like the Volnay, but this has cleaned up beautifully to offer purity and precision.
