Description

The 0.35 hectares of Guyon vines are in a small section towards the north of the Clos. They are planted north to south which contributes to a fresher, more tensile style. With the full Guyon treatment (last year 100% nuages was not possible), this presents as a quite extraordinary Clos Vougeot. It is rich with notes of kirsch and not even a hint of heaviness.  This is a very special achievement. Drink 2028-2045.

Jasper Morris MW 95-98/100
A rich dark purple. The nose is astonishing because of its definition. It is a slightly darker and certainly less lushly appealing style. Peppery notes are in balance but the volume of fruit surmounts. This is a fine and very noble example which could well leap ahead of the 2020 in the rankings. There is such a wealth of fruit, on the cusp of red and black, which returns in the very long finish. Bravo.
