Description
The vines here sit between 600-700 meters above sea level, which is above average, and certainly evident in this definitively, ‘above average’ bottling. This is my favourite of Graci’s reds. Very simply delicious, whilst also gastronomic and intellectual. Dried rose petal, strawberry, dark black cherry and earthy, leathery tones. The structure of 2021 is noticeable, and I’m equally sure of its capability to cellar.

Arcurìa 2021 is incredibly graceful and full of expression; one of my Sicilian reds of the year. It charms with its fragrant red and black fruit aromas accompanied by balsamic herbs. In the mouth, there's an almost-amaro character of blood orange, iron and citrus peel, with bright acidity and some gently oak spice. Beautiful.
A juicy and polished Etna red with crushed black berries, pumice, metal shavings and graphite in the nose and on the palate. Medium body. Firm and polished with a pretty finish. Really pretty at the end. Always well-crafted.
Drink or hold
The 2021 Etna Rosso Arcurìa is remarkably pretty and lifted in the glass, with dusty rose and dried strawberries accentuated by hints of sweet smoke. It's soft-textured and round, with firming minerality and tart wild berry fruits that slowly saturate. The Arcurìa leaves grippy tannins to coat the palate, and a bump of residual acidity keeps the mouth-watering. Notes of sour cherry taper on the finish. This is a fantastically fresh Etna Rosso.
