Les Longeroies typically has the darker fruit profile of Laurent's single-vineyard wines and 2021 is no exception. The nose has dark berry and cherry fruit with a touch of spice, while the colour is deep regal purple. The palate is rich, generous and denely-packed with dark fruit and granular tannins.

Dense purple. Like Clos du Roy, the terroir speaks louder than the vinification. It is a little earthier than the Clos du Roy, with more tannins, which is typical these days. The Longeroies might go well with game or pressed duck. Fair finish.

The 2021 Marsannay Les Longeroies suffered a difficult élevage up until the malo. It has a very perfumed and poised bouquet, mineral-driven like the Clos de Roy, the 50% stems are beautifully assimilated. The palate has more body than the Clos du Roy, grippy and quite firm in structure, blackberry and touches of blueberry towards the finish. This will benefit from two or three years in bottle.

From a huge holding of 5 ha planted to pinot plus more in Chardonnay.

An elegant and distinctly cool nose combines notes of red currant, plum and spice wisps. There is excellent density to the attractively textured medium-bodied flavours that exude evident minerality on the balanced, more complex and lingering finale. This offers excellent development potential and at least some patience is strongly suggested.
