Description
This vineyard, a labour of love created by David's grandfather in 1963, is a testament to his pioneering spirit. He was the only one then prepared to undertake the work necessary to plant and work this difficult, hard-limestone site. Spanning just under a hectare, the vines are located just above the quarry. The red and yellow oxides in the stone add a cool edge to the wine, which is long and interesting, and a real success in the vintage.

Mid crimson. The bouquet of Clos des Mouches is charming and softly seductive with crushed raspberries. The fruit builds very well across the palate and has sufficient structure to hold up the softer fruit style—the prettiest of the four red Santenay 1ers Crus.
