Description

Ale’s flagship Barolo is a blend of Arborina and Gattera in La Morra, Castelletto in Monforte, and Mancino in Serralunga. Maceration times are slightly shorter than those of the single-vineyard wines, with the Classico spending 12–15 days on the skins compared to 20–25 days for the single-cru bottlings. The 2021 is bright and forward, making it the perfect introduction to the estate. Alessandro takes great care with this entry-level Barolo, using it as a way to bring people along on the journey. This wine is better than ever this year.

Made with grapes from four different vineyard sites located in three different townships, the classic 2021 Barolo from Mauro Veglio opens with aromas of red berry, hay, dark spice and a whiff of eucalyptus. Full-bodied, elegant and savory the palate offers red cherry, cranberry and star anise accompanied by fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. While it’s already almost accessible, it will also offer years of pleasure.
