Description
From two plots, in La Toppe Martineau (south-west) and Boulmeau (south-east). This is always a bright and juicy wine but often with a hint of chunky Corton bite, given that the vineyards are in the lee of the hill. Empirically we know that this wine has just a bit more to it than first impressions would suggest.

Critics reviews
Racked and ready to bottle.
Blueish crimson. Nicely composed with fresh fruit, even if not that concentrated. Easy, though a tad simple, but not austere.
Drink 2025 - 2034
Dense, rich, ripe purple. There is not much nose as yet. Indeed, the whole profile of the wine is sturdy and backward, yet with a bit of crunch to finish. Slightly reductive notes. In its shell at the moment.
Drink 2025 - 2028
From La Toppe Marteneau and Boulmeau.
This is also aromatically ripe yet cool, with its array of red and dark currant scents that exhibit more subtle earth influence. The sleeker and more energetic, if less concentrated and powerful, flavours possess a lovely texture while offering fine length on the youthfully austere finale. This is a very good Aloxe Villages that should age well over the medium term and is worth checking out.
Drink 2028+
The 2021 Aloxe-Corton Village, a blend of two parcels, is matured in used barrels. It has a delightful bouquet with a little more fruit concentration than the Les Fichots, lifted red cherries and cranberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. There's fine depth here, and it's quite bold, fresh and sappy on the finish.
