Description

Situated just south of Ceretto’s Bricco Rocche, Rocche di Castiglione is not short of prestigious neighbours; it also borders Pira to the south-east. Covering a mere 0.4ha, this parcel is usually destined to enhance the Classico, but in 2020 the quality was such that the decision was made to release it singularly. Vibrant and energetic, the palate is marked by pure red plum, dried cranberry and rose with a brilliant verticality and central focus. The structure will give compelling longevity, with attention-demanding tannins.

The 2020 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is a bright, driving wine. Crushed rocks, red-toned fruit, chalk, mint and white pepper all race out of the glass. This is an especially taut, vibrant Barolo endowed with tons of youthful nervy austerity.
