Description

This is a strict selection of their best vineyard rows, which are side by side with Sassicaia’s and Ornellaia’s. The 2020 vintage was a year without extremes, yielding plump grapes with incredible precision of fruit, which winemaker Alex adores.  Cabernet is king this vintage; after a 28-day infusion on skins, it makes up 75% of the blend, giving grippy energy to this fine example of Bolgheri. The remaining 25% is Cabernet Franc and a little Merlot, all matured in French tonneau for 12 months.

The fruit profile is luxurious, polished and fine: dark bramble, Mediterranean herbs and succulent fleshy berry, woven with fine oak and mineral flashes.

Notes of toasted spices, dark cedar, cocoa and bark with a mix of red and blue fruit in the background. Full, compact and lightly chewy with firm, vertical tannins. Spiced, ripe, intense, yet well-integrated and balanced with tension and persistence. Needs some time in the bottle.
