Description
The 2020 vintage was the first time that the Vigna Pajana was not been made as a Riserva. This hails from the 1.3ha plot in Cascina Pajana, within Ginestra, that the family purchased in 1996. The vines here are south-east facing and 30+ years old, on similar soils to Serralunga. There is a linear freshness and a graceful, silky fluidity to the texture. This is very, very good and feels as though the wonderfully perfumed concentration is trying to escape from the glass. The palate brims with vibrant, red berry fruit, dried rose and sweet pomegranate.

Critics reviews
The wine's aroma unfurls with branch-like nuances and the rich, earthy depth of pu-erh tea, interlaced with a peppery zest. The palate shows woodland-spice character and the distinctive presence of dried red cherry and currants, with a fine and firm tannic structure and a lifted finish.
A juicy and savory Barolo with crunchy red berries, spices and dried herbs on the nose. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and vivid acidity. Polished finish.
Drink 2027
Aromas of dried botanical herb, blue flower and dog rose mingle with eucalyptus and forest floor on the beautiful 2020 Vigna Pajana from Renzo Seghesio. Linear and elegant, the savory palate offers tart red cherry, strawberry compote and licorice alongside tightly-knit, polished tannins before a bitter orange close. What a fantastic wine.
