The nose on this Saumur is a veritable burst of citrus with distinctive essences of lemon rind and grapefruit. The palate has a delightful, wax-like texture to it, providing a robust backbone for its myriad flavours. Honeydew melon, tarte Tatin, and quince jelly vie for your attention on the mid-palate before warm almonds and Anjou pear arrive on the lengthy finish. This will be a joy with mushroom risotto or a slab of pork belly.

An intense and complex nose, what a superb Saumur Blanc offering. Elegant as much as it is expressive. There are aromas of pear, ripe apple, quince, and acacia, with hints of tropical fruits on the perfume. Rich and ripe fruit on the palate, slightly textured yet balanced and elegant. The finish has a lively acidity and leaves a long-lasting impression of more citrus fruits and rounded pears still tingling on the tongue long after you have had every last drop.
