Description

I was surprised at the quality of this wine. It has a lift but also the richer profile of Bel Air. It has been aged for two years with 70% in old oak and 30% in new oak. The extra dimension is incredibly well handled. There are red fruit elements that lift the palate and stop it from being too heavy. With violet and lifted floral notes, this wine is a pleasure. Its fine and elegant structure make it refined and superb.

Bourgueil

Bourgueil is a qualitatively-important, dry red wine appellation in Touraine, if quantitatively small at 1,500 hectares. Located west of Tours, its vineyards are planted with Cabernet Franc on calcareous clay and sandy soils gently inclined towards the River Loire. The wines are medium to full-bodied, possessing rich, perfumed raspberry and forest-fruit characters underpinned by a fine structure.
