Description
This was originally from a vineyard plot known locally as “La Camila”, being one of the farmhouses owned by Camillo Benso, the Count of Cavour. Today, this is a Classico blend, using fruit from San Lorenzo (Verduno), Borzone and Raviole (Grinzane Cavour), and 5% each from Bricco Ambrogio (Roddi) and Badarina (Serralunga d’Alba). This slightly more unusual blend from mostly lighter vineyards creates a wine that is delightfully perfumed and approachable, with red fruits and an easy structure, by hallmarked by Simone’s natural finesse.

Critics reviews
Crushed mint, pressed rose and new leather aromas lead the way on Bruna Grimaldi’s 2020 Camilla. All about finesse and early enjoyment, this is the firm’s entry level Barolo made with grapes from different vineyards. It’s open-knit and already enjoyable, with ripe berry and dark spice flavors smoothed by polished tannins. Drink through 2028.
