The village of Gevrey-Chambertin is located in the northern part of Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. Known as the largest wine-producing village in the region, it is renowned more for the quality of its wines than for the quantity. With nine Grand Cru vineyards and 26 Premiers Crus, Gevrey-Chambertin is a key player in Burgundy's wine scene. The village exclusively produces red wines made from Pinot Noir and is home to some of the most esteemed names in the area, including Domaine Rossignol-Trapet, whom we are proud to collaborate with for our Own Selection bottling.

Tasting note

Our Gevrey-Chambertin is made for us by Domaine Rossignol-Trapet. It comes from a dozen different parcels of vines, aged 45-90 years old. The old vines and meticulous farming methods have mitigated the heat of the growing season; this is a wonderfully elegant and fine expression of the village. Wild cherry fruit combines with sweet floral notes and subtle oak spice to give a harmonious, complex wine.

Gevrey-Chambertin

Gevrey-Chambertin is the largest wine-producing village in Burgundy’s Côte d'Or. Located in the far north of the Côtes de Nuits, the classic style is typically deeper in colour, firmer in body and more tannic in structure than most red Burgundy. While in the past there have been myriad underperformers here, the overall quality is now higher than ever and the best can develop into the most complete and long-lived Pinot Noir in the world.
