Description

This outstanding Rosso is made from a selection of vineyards from the farm’s different altitudes, and is a picture-perfect representation of the estate. Fermentation lasts for 15 days in steel, and spends eight months in large oak botti. It is light, fragrant and full of joy! There are notes of crushed raspberry, fresh flower and pink pepper on the nose. There is a succulent tang of Sangiovese on the palate, framed by spices and a chalky grip of tannins, with a pinch of sweetness.

The 2020 Rosso di Montalcino is dark, intense and decidedly savory in style, blending rosemary with mocha, red plums and dried black cherries. This is juicy and round, with depths of dark red fruit and orange notes that add contrast. The 2020 finishes long and with a bitter tinge while maintaining a pleasantly fresh persona. It’s a bit of a bruiser, but the balance is lovely. It’s much appreciated 13.5% abv means it will be a welcome addition at the dinner table.
