The character of 2020 is evident here and has slightly repressed the Pommardian slant that usually influences this wine, given its southerly position in the appellation. This is not to say this isn’t still typical: there is succulent fruit, the wine is long, and the tannins unfurl only towards the end of the palate – and normal service is resumed.
