Description
It’s odd to consider this wine as a flagship for the domaine, but it is such a compelling wine despite its generic appellation. The vineyard, one of the best in the Hautes-Côtes, sits above Pommard. Sébastien seeks some of that style, but this is about detail, finesse and minerality. It’s full of bright and crunchy red fruit.

Critics reviews
Full bottle: 1,304 g. From a grower born and raised in the Hautes Côtes.
Deep crimson. It's just a slightly farmyard note on the nose. This is still quite youthful, with marked acidity even in 2020. But it's sincere and clearly has the potential to eventually settle down and provide pleasure.

As top Burgundy continues to command high prices, it's well worth considering the region's generic appellations as an affordable alternative. This Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune is a case in point. Up-and-coming winemaker Sébastien Magnien has crafted a wine that's light on its feet, with a fine seam of minerality, but packed with bright, crunchy fruit: black raspberry and red berries. It's well-balanced and very enjoyable.
