The 2020 Beaune Les Aigrots 1er Cru has a compact nose with crisp black cherry and boysenberry fruit. It's a little more floral and mineral-driven than its peers. This requires a few more months. The palate is well-balanced with bold black cherry and bilberry fruit. It is pretty saline and full-bodied, with some sinew toward the finish. Give this 12 to 18 months in bottle because there is more freshness here.

Situated next to Clos des Mouches. A plump and deep purple, but the nose is much less exuberant. Quite high toned with some fresh apple when it does come out. Black fruit on the palate and then rather dry tannins. At the moment the Beaune Aigrots is less balanced, but it has just been racked and I would tip the Beaune this wine to come together. Fresh acidity to finish.
