Description
This is from the highest, stoniest part of this prized vineyard, a magical south-east facing slope. The vines are between 60 and 80 years old, their deep roots finding water in even the driest years. Ripe citrus and fresh chalk combine; it’s richly textured but with a nervy, mineral backbone. The is a wine for the long term.

Critics reviews
From a 2-ha holding of vines between 45 and 80 years of age.
Ripe and beautifully layered aromas include those of petrol, citrus zest and spiced poached pear. There is impressive density to the sappy and attractively rich medium-bodied flavours that possess a lovely texture before terminating in a bitter lemon and palate coating finale. This mineral-driven effort is clearly built-to-age and a wine that will need at least a few years first.
Drink from 2026 onward
The 2020 Pouilly-Vinzelles Climat Les Quarts has an intense nose with fresh lime, lemon zest, and wet limestone aromas. The palate is beautifully balanced with a fine bead of acidity. It is a little spicy, with a tang of marmalade towards the persistent finish. It has a sense of confidence about it and will surely repay bottle age.
