This steep 13-hectare vineyard is located immediately in front of Mauro Veglio’s winery. Alessandro believes it is the most typical La Morra vineyard: full of the open, creamy style of the commune, thanks to the higher proportion of clay soils. Veglio has 2.5 hectares here, of which the oldest vines – those over 35 years old – are saved for this wine, with the rest used for the Classico. The proportion of new oak used was reduced to 25% this year. The bouquet has lovely raspberry notes and a fondant texture across the palate, almost lush in the context of a Barolo.

Critics reviews
Just mid ruby. Cool yet concentrated on the nose and a little closed with just a touch of oak. Extraordinary balance with fine, clayey tannins and fresh, juicy fruit with plenty of acidity. But still very elegant and fine, almost a little slim. Not ready yet.

The 2019 Barolo Arborina is super-classy and refined, adjectives that don't come to mind often in Arborina, where the tannins are often incisive. Freshly cut flowers, sweet red berry fruit, orange zest, mint and chalk give the Arborina its bright, high-toned profile. This mid-weight, gracious Barolo is all class.
Drink 2025 - 2037
Elegantly structured, this lovely Barolo opens with aromas of violet, berry and whiffs of coffee bean. On the taut palate, fine-grained tannins accompany juicy Morello cherry, liquorice and a hint of espresso alongside taut, fine-grained tannins.
