Ridge Vineyards is committed to creating beautiful Bordeaux-style blends, Chardonnays and elegant Zinfandels from their vineyards in Sonoma County. Although they rose to almost cult status in the late 1970s, fame has not gone to their heads, and the wines remain elegant, restrained and reasonably priced.

Our Own Selection Zinfandel is made from grapes sourced from Sonoma County, blended with small amounts of Petit Sirah and Carignane for colour and structure. It is an excellent introduction to the wines from this iconic Californian producer. A versatile wine, it’s perfect for summer barbecues, autumn lamb and warming winter stews, particularly tomato-based dishes.

Tasting note

This wine displays luscious, wild redberry fruit with strawberry jam and chocolate notes. The concentration and spice of the 2018 vintage are wonderfully balanced by the wine’s crunchy acidity and rich tannins.
