Description

A relatively high-toned nose features an array of red cherry, pomegranate, spice, wood and a whisper of the Sauvage. There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the delicious, punchy and mineral-driven medium-weight plus flavours where the impressively long finish is less youthfully austere than usual. With that said, this is far from precocious so be prepared to be patient.

Chambertin chez Damoy is not so much about finesse as power. It needs time for the wood and wine tannins to marry. The nose is getting there, the wine is quite powerful, quite succulent, still a little youthful wood tannin bitterness.
