2017 Barolo, Trediberri, Piedmont, Italy

From Capalot and Berri, this is a lighter, more delicate style than many 2017s. There’s a proportion of whole bunches, lifting the aromatics. Ageing is 18 months in Garbellotto botti, with further maturation in steel and cement. It’s a gleaming delight: roses, floral smoke, cherries and cayenne meet an immediately fruity palate. The finish is firm but focused. Drink 2022-2038.
