2013 Champagne Fleury, Sonate, Extra Brut

Description

92% Pinot Noir with a sprinkling of Pinot Blanc.

Expressive nose of stewed pineapple and blood orange. The palate has a simply gorgeous weight to it, with ripe citrus and touches of redcurrant and blueberry from the Pinot Noir, along with pastry and a defined toasted hazelnut character. The mousse is incredibly gentle and flavours last for an age. So moreish.

Smells incredibly youthful. Tastes youthful, too. More energetic than the Blanc de Noirs but with the same yeasty richness and broad base. Long, bone-dry finish. Ageing slowly and elegantly.
