2010 Champagne Fleury, Millésimé, Extra Brut

Description

This is one of the cornerstones of the Fleury range. Made from 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, it has a great nose of forest floor, mushroom, quince, dried raisins and prune, alongside some ripe exotic fruit. 60% of the blend was fermented in wood, and it saw 12 years on lees – a length of time you can feel in the complexity of the nose. The palate is very elegant and fine; it retains power, while offering an extra touch of salinity that balances out the complexity, and adds freshness. The finish is lifted and long; just lovely.
