Tasting note

Very few whiskies from the period immediately post-World War II present themselves for inspection. Even fewer have spent 74 years resting in a first-fill ex-sherry cask. Purple and brown fruits abound here, interwoven with immaculate wood. As with the finest ancient Glen Grant bottlings from this esteemed Independent Bottler, there is a beeswax note to the wood, which is beguiling when combined with the featherlight smokiness. After a plate of coronation chicken, skip dessert and go for this instead.
