Description

This has beautiful dark and maple tones to it in the glass. The nose leads with slightly less medicinal notes than previous batches, and more of a roasted nuttiness, though still with that telltale eucalyptus freshness. Mouth coating and bold, with campfire ash and walnuts and pecans roasted in golden syrup. The palate shows a hint of sweetness, which provides a wonderfully rich mouthfeel. I like that both the Bourbon and Oloroso casks in which it was aged can be tasted, but under the constant presence of those roasted coal flavours that set Islay apart.
