Tasting note

This is the first ever wheat whiskey from Maker’s Mark. It’s crafted without corn and made entirely from soft red winter wheat and malted barley grown on Star Hill Farm, the distillery’s home in Kentucky. It highlights the character of locally grown grain and the Maker’s Mark team’s commitment to regenerative farming. Aged for seven to eight years and bottled at cask strength, this inaugural release launches what will become an annual series. It’s already received critical acclaim, earning the title of Wheat Whiskey of the Year at the London Spirits Competition.

A rich and inviting nose opens with warm caramel fudge, sun-warmed sultanas and a soft hint of clove-studded loaf cake. The palate follows with layers of honeyed toffee, black-cherry ganache and a dusting of baked apple with brown sugar. The finish lingers with warmth, leaving impressions of toasted pecans and mellow cinnamon.
