Tasting note

The pinnacle of the renowned Geisha series of Karuizawa bottlings, this 40-year-old was born in 1982. Like its Platinum sister, it slept peacefully for the whole term of its maturation in an ex-Sherry barrel. Before Karuizawa closed in 2001, the spirit produced there was one of the richest in the world of whisky, and that essence thunders through here, all bass and baritone. Walnut, fig and liquorice are found in every unctuous sip and swallow. Just 227 bottles were produced.
