Description
The maritime influence struck me first, I found the nose more savoury than any I have come across from the distillery. Quite umami: salty seaweed and charred salmon skin. The gentle, floral peat is worn really rather well - never getting lost amongst the big, first-fill oak, supporting and complimenting that character rather than shouting over it. The back-palate brings those deep, woody flavours. Roasted nuts, salted caramel, heather honey. The viscous, oily structure doesn’t quite compare to that of the older, age-statement Highland Parks, nonetheless there is plenty of texture there to support a delicious and complete dram.

Critics reviews
Warm machine oil on the early nose, slightly herbal, with apricots and vanilla emerging in time. Slick on the palate, with light smoke, honey, delicate spices, and eventually, burnt toffee. The finish features liquorice, pipe tobacco, and white pepper. Ultimately mouth-drying.
