Champagne Franck Bonville
Champagne Franck Bonville is one of the most renowned grower Champagne houses in Avize. It has been the source of some of the most identity-driven Côte des Blancs Champagnes since 1930s.
Created by Alfred and Franck Bonville, the house has remained family-run across four generations and is now led by Olivier Bonville and his son-in-law Ferdinand Ruelle-Dudel, who are also the instigators of Champagne Odyssée 319. They run 15 hectares of Chardonnay vineyards, all in Grand Cru villages - Avize, Oger, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger—producing only Blanc de Blancs Champagnes of the finest quality.
We only focus on their Pur range – Pur Mesnil, Pur Avize and Pur Oger. This range has the purpose of showcasing the unique styles of each of these villages, side by side. The same winemaking and vineyard management are used for each cuvée, giving the terroir full ability to express itself. Vinification is carried out in stainless steel, and the second fermentation and aging on lees sees cork closures, to enhance the wine’s expression.
The overall style of Franck Bonville is all about finesse, minerality, and the pure expression of Cote des Blancs’ chalky terroir. Olivier and Ferdinand have also worked on shifting towards organic viticulture; they already work on the principles of sustainable viticulture.
