Founded in 1996, DuMOL focuses on producing extremely nuanced and terroir-expressive Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from some of the greatest cool-climate vineyards in the Russian River Valley. The range has evolved with time, and DuMOL now produces beguiling Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa and Sonoma County (offered separately later in the year).
Proprietor Andy Smith trained as a winemaker but referred to himself as a winegrower. This eloquently summarises Andy’s ethos: most winemaking occurs in the vineyard, and any techniques utilised in the winery are second to what is achievable amongst the vines.
