2021 Château La Croix St. Georges, Pomerol, Bordeaux
- William Kelley
- 91-93/100
Once belonging to the Order of the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem, the estate retains a sense of history, marked by a finely carved equestrian sculpture on one of its buildings. Its vineyards rest on a mix of gravel and rich clay, bringing structure and suppleness to the wines. In keeping with tradition, bottling is carried out without fining or filtration, preserving purity and character.
Château La Croix St. Georges is known for producing wines of finesse and poise. Elegance and softness are defining traits that distinguish them even among such illustrious neighbours. Today, the House of Joseph Janoueix's ownership ensures this reputation is carefully maintained and continually strengthened.
