2007 Berry Bros. & Rudd Secret Speyside, Cask Ref. 13916, Single Malt Scotch Whisky (62.7%)
- 62.7% alcohol
- Scotch Whisky
Description
This rich Speysider gives a near textbook example of ex-Sherry butt whisky: dried fruits, wood spice and a little leather emerge on the nose. The palate is beautifully soft and mellow, with notes of figs, dates and raisins. Clean, vibrant, honeyed notes build to an almost sherbet-like mouthfeel. The powerful Sherry-wood flavours integrate perfectly with the high alcohol at cask strength. The finish brings more pleasingly soft Sherry-wood flavours, with layers of honey and spice. This dram almost demands a thick leather armchair to enjoy it in.

Speyside
To some Speyside represents the jewel in whisky’s crown. Speyside is the home of legal whisky production and it’s best known examples. Around the world Glenlivet, Macallan, Glenfiddich, Glenrothes and Glenfarclas typify all that whisky, at it’s best has to offer.
