Description
All three vineyards for this blend are in Vosne-Romanée. Unusually for this level, one component, Combe d’Orveaux, is from high on the slope above the Grands Crus; it adds a fine sparkle of freshness and grip. This is full of bright red fruit and is open-textured and welcoming, all with Jean-Pierre’s trademark salinity on the finish.

Critics reviews
10% new wood, about to be bottled. The Bourgogne offers a heavenly nose right from the start. All about the fruit, which has a darker edge to it. The stem side gives a real tingle. Now, some dark red cherries in the fruit. Salty notes at the very back. A tannin or two to finish.

About this wine
Bourgogne
In the Burgundy hierarchy, “Bourgogne” denotes the entry level of the classification system. This is a so-called “regional” appellation, theoretically covering the entire vineyard area of Burgundy. This is distinct from the more geographically precise village-level, Premier Cru and Grand Cru designations. The two most common Bourgogne-level wines are Bourgogne Blanc (“White Burgundy”) and Bourgogne Rouge (“Red Burgundy”).
