Description
From six different lieux-dits.
Here, too, there is a whiff of herbal tea character sitting atop the earthier and more sauvage-influenced red berry fruit aromas. The sleek and delicious medium-bodied flavours are not quite as rich, though they are more precise and more mineral-driven on the impressively long and well-balanced finale. This is a fine Gevrey Villages that is worth thinking about.

Offering aromas of orange rind, peonies, spices and sweet red berries, the 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with an ample, enveloping core of fruit and a broad, saline finish.

A blend of all their 16 plots, one-third each from across the D974, by the Grands Crus and to the north. The average age is 60-70 years.
Full purple, quite a dark fruit with some reduction. More perfume comes out behind. A rich, concentrated dark raspberry fruit, there is no doubting the ripeness of the juice and good concentration. The tannins are refined, and there is enough acidity—also a touch of salinity.
