Description
This small parcel is a favourite of Olivier’s due to its steep slope and old vines. It makes for an elegant and silky expression of St Véran. Olivier likens its salinity to his Pouilly-Fuissé Sur La Roche. There is plenty of juicy white stone-fruit here, a rounded feel to the mid-palate and then that freshness on the finish.

Critics reviews
Attractively layered aromas of poached pear, petrol, citrus confit and a hint of wood toast lead to lavishly rich, even lush, medium-bodied flavours that coat the palate with sappy dry extract before terminating in a powerful, long and balanced finale. This isn't especially refined, but there's much to like here as it's a quality St. Véran.
Drink from 2025 onward
The 2020 Saint-Véran En Creche comes from a 0.33-hectare plot that Merlin describes as precocious due to its exposure to a lot of sunlight during the day; therefore, it is picked earlier than others. It has a well-defined bouquet with light, flinty aromas, a touch of red apple, and pressed flower. The palate is well-balanced and very harmonious, with fine tension thanks to the acidity and a welcome twist of sour lemon on the finish. Very fine.
