Description
This is a blend from two vineyards: Les Saunières, which lies immediately to the south of the town on richer clay; and Les Bras, a much higher vineyard with more limestone. This is a reliable cuvée, as the French would say “une valeur sûre”. It has delicious red fruit, a crunchy texture and a clean, chalky finish.

Critics reviews
Fine mid purple, the bouquet is not immediate, but the wine has both concentration without being too dark, and structure. More tannins than you might expect in a village Santenay but they will resolve very nicely with longer elevage. Medium length.
The 2020 Santenay Clos Rousseau 1er Cru includes one-third whole cluster. It has a well defined, but more introverted bouquet than the Village Cru, touches of sous-bois and tobacco. This just needs time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, again, very smooth and velvety in texture, very finely judged acidity with a sapid finish. Great potential.
