Description
The 2020 is comprised of 35% fruit from La Morra, from Cascina Fontana’s vineyard in Giachini. The lion’s share of the grapes, however, hails from the prized plots in Castiglione Falletto - a combination of Valletti and Villero cru. After fermentation, the wine spends two years in large Slavonian oak, before a year in cement and a further six months’ bottle ageing prior to release. The 2020 shows great balance, with a firm but elegant structure. The palate is wonderfully detailed with blackcurrant and earthy, cherry tones before poised sanguinello and vibrant acidity.

Barolo
Piedmont's most famous wine DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita), Barolo is renowned for producing Italy's finest reds from 100 percent Nebbiolo. The Barolo appellation was formalised in 1966 at around 1,700 hectares, and has an exceptional terroir with almost every village perched on its own hill. The climate is continental, with an extended summer and autumn enabling the fickle Nebbiolo to achieve perfect ripeness.
