Description
Low on the slope and bordering Pommard, this can be quite a durable wine. The vines were planted in 1985. The wine is full of strawberry fruit, but with a spicy edge; well-judged and nicely structured.

Bottled under Diam 30.
The 2018 Beaune Epenottes 1er Cru has one of the more composed and refined bouquets. Vibrant dark cherry and cranberry fruit entwines with subtle tertiary, almost torrefactory notes. The palate is harmonious and medium-bodied with pliant tannins. A subtle sprinkling of white pepper enlivens and lends complexity to the finish and shows a commendable backbone. In this flight, this Beaune is a cut above.
Drink 2022 - 2032
Bright lively purple, joyous fresh cherries, all the elegance this site can offer. Middle weight but supremely lively, fresh and very long.
