Description
This is a very charming wine, offering an expressive nose of ripe white fruit combined with sophisticated struck-match reduction and gentle oak toast. The palate is quite generous, offering richly textured white peach fruit, stylish and attractive oak spice and a keen thread of citrus acidity, finishing on a cleansing note of chalky minerals.

Allen Meadows 90/100
Pretty and fresh aromas of white orchard fruit, floral and citrus zest aromas are trimmed in a mild amount of oak. Once again there is exceptional richness to the opulent and lavish flavors that brim with dry extract that imparts a sappy texture to the lightly stony finish. This offers notably better vibrancy than the Bastion though I would still be inclined to drink this in its youth.

Pale lemon, with a slight reduction to the nose, currently masking the detail of the fruit. This is relatively sumptuous on the palate however, with some attractive spice alongside the deep white fruit, certainly offering very good volume at the back and just a little lemon acidity to finish.

With a golden colour in the glass, this displays an intriguing combination of exotic fruits, green apple acidity, some reductive notes and toffee crème brulée characters. 2017 was a fine white wine vintage giving this Clos des Mouches a distinctive cool streak on the savoury, mineral-driven finish. A step up from the Savigny Blanc, Chanson's Clos des Mouches comes from a 2ha plot of Chardonnay, planted high up on the hill on stony and sandy soils over limestone bedrock.
