Critics reviews
It has a weak rim and slightly dull ruby. It is very sweet and heady, though not especially precise on the nose. It is very sweet and round – not exactly majestic but certainly wonderfully flattering and has a certain lift. Very much grand-cru fruit. A certain delicacy, then sizeably meaty tannins. Fades just a little fast.
Drink 2013 - 2025
From a tiny parcel of only .17 ha that produced only two barrels in 2006, the fruit was destemmed berry by berry.
In contrast to the reticence of the prior grands crus, this is pure, elegant and soaring with a gorgeous mix of dark berry fruit and floral notes, particularly violets that complement to perfection the rich and supple mid-palate oozing with dry extract and culminating in a balanced, textured, detailed and explosive finish that really makes a statement. This balanced and serious Musigny has a sense of finesse and assumes its usual place as the class of the range in 2006. In a word, terrific.
